Directorate Overview
About the Directorate
The Public Relations and Communications Directorate is the voice and face of the Sidaama Region Labor and Skills Bureau. We are responsible for managing the Bureau's reputation, fostering transparent communication with the public, and ensuring that all stakeholders — including job seekers, employers, training institutions, and development partners — receive accurate, timely, and accessible information about our programs and services.
Through strategic media engagement, digital outreach, community relations, and internal communications, we build trust and amplify the Bureau's impact. We believe that effective communication is the cornerstone of good governance and citizen empowerment. Our team works to showcase success stories, promote labor rights awareness, and facilitate two-way dialogue between the Bureau and the communities we serve.
Over the past year, the Directorate has grown the Bureau's social media following by 240%, issued 48 press releases, organized 12 community town halls reaching over 15,000 citizens, and achieved a 78% public awareness rate of key labor services in urban areas. Our goal is to achieve 90% awareness across all zones by 2027.
